Emails are commonly intercepted by hackers so secure communication platforms are ideal for Law firms due to the nature of the work in this industry. It is becoming increasingly less secure to use emails for your confidential matters so Communicate is a way for your Lawyer to ensure the matter information is reaching you and not a 3rd party who is pretending to be you.
What is it that makes communicate so secure?
1. Two Factor authentication
Unlike emails, Communicate requires a 2 factor authentication for the recipients to gain access to the information. Two factor authentication means if someone has hacked your email they will be unable to open communicate without also having access to your mobile phone.
2. Data Encryption
Messages are encrypted and unable to be intercepted by 3rd parties while they are in transit.
3. Device/ IP Address memory
Once you have completed your 2 Factor authentication, Communicate will remember your device and unless you are logging in using a trusted device, you will be required to identify yourself again.
Communicate is completely passwordless. The reason for this is passwords are proving to be extremely insecure as hackers are finding intelligent ways to guess or copy the password from another platform that is less secure.
5. Security monitoring
Communicate uses Auth0 technology for its secure login and this comes with constant monitoring for unknown identities trying to gain access. For more information on Auth0 and their Security, Privacy & Compliance, click here.
6. Terminated access
If for any reason both your computer and phone device are compromised, you can simply get in contact with your lawyer who can completely remove your access to a conversation.
